Harassment of Students
The ACT Department of Education and Training requires its schools to have procedures for resolving cases of sexual harassment involving students. Alleged incidents of sexual harassment against children (by other children or adults) while under the jurisdiction of the school should be reported to one of the Sexual Harassment Contact Teachers.
Their names are advised early each school year and displayed in all units. Harassment is dealt with under Fadden's Student Management Policy.
Homework
An important part of a child’s education is the carry-over of learning into his/her activities outside of the school setting. One way this can be done is through homework. The Fadden staff and school community believe that homework can be an important and valuable extension of classroom learning. At Fadden we have a “developmental” policy whereby children start their school activities at home and gradually increase this responsibility from Kindergarten through Year 6. Year Levels and Time per Week
- Kindergarten -Some reading each day. Talking about and collecting items for class themes and news time.
- Years 1 and 2 - 30 minutes
- Years 3 and 4 - 1 hour
- Years 5 and 6 – 1.5 hours
Note: Daily reading is a necessary part of homework, K – 6, in order to practice and develop reading skills and to read for pleasure.

Lunch: 11.10am - 11.50am
Second Session: 11.50am - 1.20pm
Recess: 1.30pm - 1.50pm
Third Session: 1.50pm - 3.00pm
